Built for the Pros, Now Free for Everyone: Gigwell's Free Booking Tools Are Live
The same artist offer sheets, performance contracts, hospitality riders, settlement reports, and fee calculators that booking agents use are now free for touring artists, new agents, and independent booking agencies.
For more than a decade, Gigwell has worked behind the scenes of live entertainment, building the booking software that agencies, artist managers, and venues use to route tours, negotiate performance contracts, and settle shows after the lights go down. Most people buying tickets to a show never hear our name. That was always fine with us. Today we're doing something different: we're taking the same tools our paying customers rely on and making a free version available to anyone getting started in this business.
We just launched Free Booking Tools, a set of no cost tools live now at freetools.gigwell.com. If you're a touring artist, a new booking agent, or an independent booking agency handling your first artist contracts and settlement reports, this post walks through what's inside, why we built it, and how it's different from the paid platform we already offer.
Why we made free booking tools
“I got into this industry the same way most of the people we built these tools for did: bootstrapped, self-taught, and figuring things out through trial and error. For years, the only way to get real booking infrastructure was to already be big enough to afford it. That's backwards. The people who need a structured offer sheet or an artist settlement report most are the ones who can least afford advanced, industry specific tools. We decided to stop gatekeeping it.” —Gigwell CEO Jeremie Habib
This isn't our first step toward making agency grade booking software accessible. Artist Essentials, our low cost tier for independent artists managing their own bookings, already puts professional grade booking tools directly in artists' hands. Free Booking Tools extends that same idea to everyone else in the room: new booking agents, first time talent buyers, and independent artists drafting artist contracts and closing show settlements for the first time, usually without the budget for booking management software or anyone to show them what a professional performance contract or hospitality rider is supposed to look like.
What's inside Gigwell's Free Booking Tools
Artist Offer Sheet Builder
An artist offer sheet is the first formal document in a booking, the one that lays out event details, deal terms, and a payment schedule before a contract gets drafted. Our free Artist Offer Sheet Builder turns that into a professional booking offer in minutes.
Artist Contract Builder
An artist contract, also called a performance contract, is the binding agreement between an artist and whoever is booking them. The Artist Contract Builder generates an artist-friendly version with a cancellation policy and rider attachments built in.
Show Profit Calculator
Before you confirm a booking, you need to know if it pencils out. The Show Profit Calculator is a free break-even calculator that projects ticket revenue, artist costs, and profit so you aren't guessing.
Artist Settlement Generator
After a show, someone has to reconcile ticket sales, expenses, and commissions into a final payout. The Artist Settlement Generator turns that math into a clean artist settlement report, what some people call a settlement sheet, automatically.
Hospitality Rider Builder
A hospitality rider, often just called an artist rider, covers what a touring artist needs backstage: dressing rooms, meals, travel. The Hospitality Rider Builder puts that together in the format promoters and venues expect to see.
Technical Rider Builder
A technical rider, or stage rider, spells out the production side: stage plot, sound and lighting specs, input list, and DJ rider details if there's a DJ involved. Ours generates all of it in one document.
Radius Clause Generator
A radius clause protects a venue or promoter by restricting where else an artist can play nearby before or after a show. The Radius Clause Generator writes that language based on geography, blackout dates, and festival rules.
AI Contract Reviewer (coming soon)
Before anyone signs a booking contract, it helps to know what's missing. The AI Contract Reviewer will flag missing terms and risky language using AI contract review, the same category of technology we already use internally.
What's coming next
AI Offer Assistant, AI Tour Router, Artist Fee Estimator, and Venue Operations Copilot are rolling out over the next few months, extending the same guidance to tour routing, artist fee estimates, and day to day venue management. An electronic press kit (EPK) builder is also in development, since a lot of you have asked for one.
How free booking tools are different from Gigwell's software
We know some of you already use Artist Essentials, Talent Buyer Pro, or Productivity Suite. Free Booking Tools is limited: each tool works on its own, and you download or email the result by hand. That's fine if you need one offer sheet or one settlement report today.
If you're managing multiple artists, venues, or shows at once, you'll outgrow that fast. Gigwell's paid platform (made up of Productivity Suite for touring agencies, Artist Essentials for independent artists, and Talent Buyer Pro for venues, promoters, and talent buyers) connects contacts, contracts, payments, advancing, and tour logistics in one system. It's the same entertainment booking software, venue management software, and artist management software category these free tools are built on, just fully connected.
“Our free tools solve today's immediate booking challenge. The paid platform is for live event pros who are ready to run their whole business through one piece of booking software instead of dozens of tools. Whether someone is booking their first tour, building a new agency, or buying talent for a venue, they should be able to walk in looking professional.”
FAQ
What's the difference between an artist offer sheet and an artist contract?
An offer sheet comes first. It lays out proposed deal terms so both sides can agree before anything is legally binding. An artist contract, or performance contract, is the signed agreement that follows once terms are settled.
Is a hospitality rider the same thing as a technical rider?
No. A hospitality rider, or artist rider, covers what an artist needs off stage: food, lodging, and dressing room requirements. A technical rider, or stage rider, covers the production side: sound, lighting, stage plot, and equipment.
Do I need a booking agency to use Gigwell's Free Booking Tools?
No. The tools are built for anyone handling the business side of a booking, whether that's an independent artist, a brand new booking agent, a promoter, or a venue talent buyer.
Are the contract and radius clause tools legal advice?
No. They're built for informational and operational purposes and aren't a substitute for legal advice from a lawyer familiar with entertainment law in your jurisdiction.
Are Gigwell's free booking tools really free, or is there a catch?
It's free. No account required, no credit card, and no trial period that converts into a bill. If you outgrow the free tools later, our paid platform is there, but nothing obligates you to it.
